Mad Hatter's Tea & Brunch

"Alice and the White Rabbit would have loved the Mad Hatters Tea & Brunch, celebrating Frankie's Friends' with guests topped out in whimsical chapeaux to help pet-lovers fund emergency and specialized veterinary care. The organization, named in memory of benefactor Eddie DeBartolo's greyhound Frankie, helped save 2,000 animals last year, said executive director Danielle Martin.

The 160 behatted-supporters circled a Bloody Mary bar and silent auction, then enjoyed Sunday brunch at Eddie V's at tables adorned with Alice in Wonderland figurines and flower-filled teapots. For a $25 donation, guests could sip from fine china borrowed from Betsey Hapner and other committee members. Judges Jen Epstein and Russell Rhodes of WTVT-Ch. 13 awarded top honors to Ruth Kegel, and Ryne Gallien and Best of Show to Katie Selman's sensational swan hat."
